Otto is hopping through King Kalinko's garden on his way to a patch of cabbage and carrots.
His friend Kalinko has planted them there especially for him. The rabbit is allowed to eat as much as he wants.
Overhead, the sun is shining, and a robin is singing.
A wonderful morning! Otto is overflowing with joy. Only for how long?
Someone is hiding behind the oleander bush, waiting for an opportunity. It is Zettelwitz, the odious sorcerer.
He has been observing the rabbit for a long time. Whatever has he got in mind?
A cloud rolls over the sun, the bird flies away. Zettelwitz comes out from behind the bush.
Otto opens his eyes wide.
Could this be an official of the king? he wonders. Or an old friend?
The wizard grins ominously, and raises his magic wand in a way that bodes no good!
Otto wants to hop away, but he's too slow.
Zettelwitz stops him with some very odd words:

Okra, poker, polkadot! Otto, become an O!

A SOUND LIKE ROLLING BOULDERS! A GLOWING FLASH!

Where did Otto Hop go? Where he cowered a moment ago, there is only a round oval O!

The wizard has changed Otto into his first letter!
"Oh, what a lovely ornament! You're the first letter in my collection", gloats Zettelwitz.
